Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by generously seasoning the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper on all sides.
  2. Optional: sear the roast in a hot skillet over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side until browned.
  3. Place the seasoned beef in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  4. Add minced garlic and evenly distribute butter cubes on top of the beef.
  5. Chop the potatoes into large chunks and place them around the sides.
  6. Pour in the beef broth, ensuring everything is well-coated in liquid.
  7. Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  8. Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks or serve it whole.
  9. Scoop out the tender potatoes and arrange them alongside the beef.
