  • 1 cup Fresh lemon juice Juiced from about 4 lemons
  • 1/2 cup Fresh basil Chopped
  • 1/2 cup Sugar Can substitute with sugar substitute
  • 2 cups Filtered water Enhances overall freshness

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Juice fresh lemons to yield about 1 cup of lemon juice. Set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together lemon juice, sugar, chopped basil, and water until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Pour the mixture into a shallow pan and freeze for about 1 hour.
  4. After one hour, scrape the mixture with a fork to break up ice crystals. Freeze again and repeat every 30 minutes for 3 hours.
  5. Serve over vanilla ice cream if desired.
