Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine sliced fresh peaches with half of the brown sugar, granulated sugar, lemon juice, vanilla, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and cornstarch. Toss until evenly coated.
- Pour the peach mixture into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle melted butter over the peaches.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add whole milk to the dry mixture and stir until just combined. Pour over the peaches.
- Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
