Cooking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather all your ingredients and equipment.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
- Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt. Sauté minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Introduce the chopped cauliflower and broccoli to the skillet, sauté for 5–7 minutes until they begin to soften.
- Reduce heat to low, stir in the heavy cream, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and nutmeg. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
- Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese and stir continuously until melted, about 2 minutes.
- Gently fold in the cooked sausage into the veggie and cheese mixture.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, sprinkle grated Parmesan and bread crumbs on top.
- Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Remove from oven, let it rest for 5 minutes, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
