Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until evenly blended.
- Cut in the cold unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the egg until just combined. Split the dough in half and press one half evenly into the bottom of your baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix the sliced peaches with brown sugar, cornstarch, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
- Spread the peach filling evenly over the crust in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the peach filling.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into bars.
