  • 0.5 cups brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

  • 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until evenly blended.
  3. Cut in the cold unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the egg until just combined. Split the dough in half and press one half evenly into the bottom of your baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the sliced peaches with brown sugar, cornstarch, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
  6. Spread the peach filling evenly over the crust in the baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the peach filling.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  9. Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into bars.
