For the Sauce
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce homemade for fresher taste
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder or paprika for milder flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin optional but recommended
  • 1 dash cayenne pepper adjust to spice preference

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine one cup of cranberry sauce with half a cup of brown sugar, one teaspoon of chili powder, half a teaspoon of cumin, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Stir together over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  2. Continue cooking the sauce for an additional 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly and bubbles change texture.
  3. Gently add the cooked meatballs and stir to coat each meatball with sauce. Heat through for about 5 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving warm.
