  • 2 leaves bay leaves

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Start by finely chopping the onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Pit and slice the green olives. This will take about 10 minutes.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook for 8-10 minutes until browned.
  4. Stir in the tomato sauce, olives, raisins, cumin, oregano, and bay leaves. Mix well and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper. Serve hot over white rice.
