Prepare the Cheesecake Layer

Make the Cake Layers
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Combine cake mix, water, oil, and egg whites. Divide batter into two greased 9-inch pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes before transferring to racks.

- Beat butter and vanilla until fluffy. Gradually add powdered sugar until smooth. Adjust consistency with cream if necessary.
Assemble the Cake
- Place one cake layer on a plate, spread frosting on top, add cheesecake layer, and more frosting before topping with the second cake layer.
Frost and Decorate
- Coat the entire cake with remaining frosting. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top and sides.
Chill the Cake
- Chill the assembled cake for at least 2 hours before serving.
