Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Brew a strong cup of coffee or espresso, around 1/2 cup, and let it cool.
  2. Melt 8 oz of dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals until smooth.
  3. Mix 1 cup of mascarpone cheese with 1/4 cup of sugar and the cooled coffee until creamy.
  4. Shape the mascarpone mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place on parchment paper.
  5. Chill the truffle balls in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
  6. Dip each chilled truffle into the melted dark chocolate until fully coated.
  7. Dust each chocolate-coated truffle with unsweetened cocoa powder.
  8. Let the truffles chill in the refrigerator for an additional 15-20 minutes to set.
