Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking. Preheat the oven to 275°F.
  2. Slice English muffins in half and butter each half. Arrange the muffin bottoms, cut side up, in the baking dish.
  3. Layer thinly sliced ham over the muffins, followed by a sprinkling of Swiss and Cheddar cheese.
  4. Top the casserole with buttered muffin halves, buttered side facing up.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, dried mustard, salt, and pepper until light and fluffy. Incorporate fresh parsley and dill.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered muffins, ham, and cheese.
  7. Cover the casserole tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight, or bake immediately.
  8. When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 275°F and bake covered with foil for 30 minutes. Increase temperature to 350°F, remove foil, and bake uncovered for an additional 45 minutes.
  9. Once baked, remove from the oven and rest for about 15 minutes before serving.
