Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • Pie Pan
  • wire rack

Method

Pie Crust Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, salt, and sugar. Cut in cold cubed butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, mixing just until the dough holds together. Shape it into a disk, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.
Dough Rolling
  1. After chilling, roll out the pie crust to 1/8 inch thickness. Transfer the rolled dough into the pan, trim excess dough, and crimp the edges.
Pecan Pie Filling
  1. In a bowl, whisk together corn syrup and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, blending until combined. Stir in melted butter, then fold in pecans.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the pecan filling into the prepared crust and bake for 50–60 minutes until the edges are set but the center remains slightly jiggly.
Cool and Serve
  1. Let the pie cool completely on a wire rack. Slice and serve with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
