For the Slushie
  • 1 cup Mint Simple Syrup Prepare ahead and store in the fridge.
  • 1 cup Bourbon Can be replaced with white rum or vodka for variations.
  • 4 cups Ice Crushed ice blends more quickly.
For Garnish
  • Mint Sprigs (optional) Use fresh sprigs for a pop of color.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine equal parts granulated sugar and water with fresh mint leaves. Stir gently and let simmer for about 5 minutes until the sugar dissolves. Strain the syrup into a heat-proof jar and allow to cool.
  2. In a blender, combine the cooled mint syrup, bourbon, and crushed ice. Blend on high until smooth and slushy, adding more ice if needed.
  3. Pour the Mint Julep Slushie into chilled glasses and garnish with fresh mint sprigs.
