For the Omelet
  • 3 Fresh eggs Ensure freshness for the best taste.
  • 1 tablespoon Butter Use a non-stick skillet for easy omelet creation.
For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup Essential for that classic sweet-tangy flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Demi-glace Mix with ketchup for a luscious topping.

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add chopped vegetables like peas and carrots, along with your protein choice, sautéing for about 3-4 minutes until tender. Next, stir in 2 cups of cooked rice, along with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1/4 cup of demi-glace. Mix well and cook for another 3-4 minutes until everything is heated through, then set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 fresh eggs until well combined, adding a pinch of salt. Heat a non-stick skillet over low heat and add a small knob of butter, swirling it around until melted and foamy. Pour in the egg mixture, allowing it to spread evenly. Cook gently for 3-4 minutes until the edges are set, but the center remains slightly runny.
  3. Once the omelet is cooked, place the rice filling in the center of the omelet. Carefully fold the edges of the omelet over the rice, creating a neat package. Allow it to cook together for an additional minute, then use a spatula to slide it onto a plate.
  4. Drizzle a generous amount of ketchup over the top of your beautifully assembled Omurice. For an extra touch, mix some demi-glace with ketchup for a richer sauce.
