Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 16 ounces Rotini Pasta Can substitute with penne or fusilli.
For the Meat
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Can substitute with ground turkey or plant-based alternative.
For the Flavor
  • 2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning Can use oregano or a blend of dried herbs.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh minced garlic can be used.
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt Adjust to taste if using regular table salt.
For the Toppings
  • 6 ounces Pepperoni Can substitute with turkey pepperoni or other toppings.
  • 1 medium Green Bell Pepper Can substitute with red or yellow bell peppers or omit.
  • 1 medium Onion Shallots or leeks can replace it or can omit.
For the Sauce
  • 24 ounces Marinara Sauce Can mix with pizza sauce for added flavor.
For the Cheese
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Provologne or dairy-free alternative can be used.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, together with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and kosher salt, for 7-10 minutes.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, browned meat, pepperoni, bell pepper, onion, marinara sauce, and 2 cups of mozzarella cheese. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Pour the mixture into the baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 15 minutes.
  6. Stir in the remaining mozzarella and add 20 whole pepperoni slices. Bake for another 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted.
  7. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.
