Ingredients
  

For the Pie Crust
  • 1.5 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 0.5 cups Unsalted Butter cold
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • ice water Ice Water add gradually
For the Apple Filling
  • 6 count Granny Smith Apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 0.75 cups Granulated Sugar adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice to prevent browning
  • a few drops Green Food Coloring for desired hue
For the Topping
  • 1 cup Caramel Sauce for drizzling
  • as needed count Candy Eyes for decoration
  • Pie Crust Leaves optional

Method
 

Pie Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, butter, sugar, and salt. Blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water until dough holds together. Shape into a disk, wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out the chilled dough into a circle to fit your pie dish.
  3. In a large bowl, mix apple slices with sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Add food coloring to achieve the desired green hue.
  4. Transfer the rolled-out crust into the pie dish, fill with apple mixture, and dot with butter. Use excess dough to cut out decorations.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F, then reduce to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 35-40 minutes until bubbling and golden.
  6. Allow to cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes. Drizzle with caramel and add candy eyes before serving.
  7. Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature, pairing with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

Notes
