Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by zesting about 2 oranges. Combine the zest with sugar in a bowl, rubbing together until aromatic.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the orange juice, eggs, vanilla, and sugar-zest mixture. Add vegetable oil and beat until smooth.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into the wet mixture. Gently fold until just combined.
  4. Generously spray the bundt pan with baking spray or coat it with butter and flour. Set aside.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and bake at 350°F for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. In a saucepan, combine orange peels, orange juice, water, and sugar. Simmer gently until sugar dissolves to make the syrup.
  7. Once the cake is baked, prick holes in the top and pour the syrup over it. Let it absorb and cool for 30 minutes.
  8. Invert the cake onto a plate, mix powdered sugar with orange juice, and drizzle over the cake.
