Step-by-Step Instructions for Swedish Apple Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan with butter. Line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. Peel, core, and thinly slice your apples, and set them aside in a bowl.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cardamom.
  4. In another bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and yogurt, whisking until smooth.

  6. Spread half of the batter in the prepared pan, then layer half of the sliced apples on top.
