Equipment

  • medium-sized saucepan
  • Baking Sheet
  • Bowls for coating

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by carefully cutting your fresh goat cheese log into 12 equal slices. Gently roll each slice into a ball with your hands.
  2. Prepare three coating stations: tapioca flour in one bowl, a beaten egg in another, and a breadcrumb mixture in the third. Coat each ball in the order: tapioca flour, egg, then breadcrumbs.
  3. Once coated, freeze the cheese balls on a baking sheet for 5-10 minutes to firm them up.
  4. In a medium-sized saucepan, heat enough avocado oil to submerge the cheese balls to 380°F (190°C).
  5. Fry 3-5 cheese balls at a time for about 2-2.5 minutes or until golden brown, turning gently to cook evenly.
  6. Prepare the spicy honey by combining honey, red pepper flakes, and cayenne pepper in a small saucepan over low heat, simmering for 5 minutes.
  7. Drizzle the hot and crispy Fried Goat Cheese Balls with spicy honey and serve immediately.
