  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar Brown sugar can be used for depth of flavor.
  • 2 cups Whole Milk Almond or oat milk are good substitutes.
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon Nutmeg can be an alternative.
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Nutmeg Omit if preferred.
  • 1 pinch Salt Balances sweetness.
For the Finishing Touch
  • 1/2 cup Warm Honey Drizzle over pie for sweetness.
  • 2 tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer seven sheets of phyllo dough in the baking dish, brushing each layer with melted butter.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together semolina flour, eggs, granulated sugar until smooth. Gradually add milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Pour the filling over the phyllo base and spread evenly.
  5. Cover the filling with remaining phyllo sheets, brushing each with melted butter and scoring the top.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then drizzle with honey and sprinkle sesame seeds.
  8. Slice into squares or rectangles and serve.
