Preparation
- Start by laying the sliced onion at the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Gently place the beef roast right on top of the onions.
- Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce over the beef roast.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, black pepper, and salt directly over the beef.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours.
- Carefully remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred using two forks.
- Strain out the onions from the cooking liquid and return the broth to the slow cooker.
- To thicken the gravy, stir in a cornstarch slurry and allow it to simmer on HIGH for about 10 minutes.
- To serve, place a slice of bread on a plate, layer with fluffy mashed potatoes, and top with the shredded beef.
- Ladle the thickened gravy generously over the top.
