- In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Gradually stir in 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, a pinch of salt, and cinnamon if desired. Press the dough into the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking pan.
- Wash and slice 4-5 fresh peaches into thin wedges and toss with 1/4 cup of sugar. Distribute the peach mixture over the crust in the pan.
- In the same bowl, mix the remaining flour and sugar with another stick of softened butter to create the crumb topping. Sprinkle over the peach filling.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 35-40 minutes until topping is golden brown and filling bubbles.
- Allow to cool at room temperature for at least 1 hour before slicing into squares or bars.
