Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Gradually stir in 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, a pinch of salt, and cinnamon if desired. Press the dough into the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking pan.
  3. Wash and slice 4-5 fresh peaches into thin wedges and toss with 1/4 cup of sugar. Distribute the peach mixture over the crust in the pan.
  4. In the same bowl, mix the remaining flour and sugar with another stick of softened butter to create the crumb topping. Sprinkle over the peach filling.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 35-40 minutes until topping is golden brown and filling bubbles.
