Step-by-Step Instructions

Combine yeast mixture, warm cream, and egg yolks to form a soft, sticky dough. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  2. Shape the Danishes: The next day, punch down the dough, divide it, and roll into rectangles. Cut strips and twist to shape them. Place on greased baking sheets.
  3. Second Rise: Cover shapes with a towel and let them rise in a warm area for about 45 minutes.
  4. Preheat and Fill: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Create an indent in each Danish and fill with cherry pie filling.
  5. Bake: Bake for 14-16 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Ice: Prepare icing and drizzle over cooled Danishes before serving.
