- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
- Carefully stir in one cup of boiling water to the batter, then pour it into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
- Poke holes evenly across the surface of the cake using a wooden spoon handle.
- Pour the mixture of sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce over the top of the cake. Allow to soak.
- Whip the Cool Whip until soft peaks form and spread it over the cooled cake.
- Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving. Garnish with crushed Heath bars or other toppings.
