Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
  3. Carefully stir in one cup of boiling water to the batter, then pour it into the prepared baking pan.
  4. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  5. Poke holes evenly across the surface of the cake using a wooden spoon handle.
  6. Pour the mixture of sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce over the top of the cake. Allow to soak.
  7. Whip the Cool Whip until soft peaks form and spread it over the cooled cake.
  8. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving. Garnish with crushed Heath bars or other toppings.
