Dough Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Warm the milk and butter until melted, then blend with dry ingredients.
- Add in egg and extracts, and beat until a sticky dough forms.
Knead Dough
- Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes.
- The dough should be smooth and elastic.
First Rise
- Grease the mixing bowl and place the dough inside, covering with a towel.
- Let rise for about 1 hour in a warm place.
Prepare Filling
- Blend unsalted butter, almond meal, sugar, egg, extracts, and salt until smooth.
Roll Out Dough
- Punch down the dough, transfer to a floured surface, and roll into a rectangle.
- Spread filling evenly over the dough.
Form Rolls
- Roll tightly into a log shape and slice into 12 pieces.
- Place in a baking pan and let rise again for 1 hour.
Bake & Frost
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for about 30 minutes.
- Allow to cool slightly, then frost and sprinkle with slivered almonds.
