Step-by-Step Instructions for Halloween Hand Pies
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll out the refrigerated pie crusts on a lightly floured surface until about 1/8 inch thick. Cut out roughly 40 shapes resembling mummies.
- On half of the cut shapes, spoon 1-2 teaspoons of thick red berry jam in the center, leaving edges clear.
- Brush the edges of the filled shapes with egg wash, place another shape on top, and press down gently to seal.
- Brush the tops with remaining egg wash and make a few small holes for steam to escape.
- Bake for 13-15 minutes until golden brown and flaky, and cool on wire racks for about 10 minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar with milk to create a drizzle, adjusting thickness as desired, and drizzle over cooled hand pies.
- Decorate with eyes using dyed frosting or chocolate for a festive touch.
