Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in vodka, stir to combine, and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add crushed tomatoes, season with salt and black pepper, and stir well.
  6. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer for about 10 minutes.
  7. In a separate pot, cook pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions.
  8. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain pasta.
  9. Reduce heat on sauce and stir in heavy cream until incorporated.
  10. Add drained pasta to the sauce and toss until well-coated.
  11. Toss again, adjusting sauce consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
  12. Serve immediate and garnish with Parmesan and fresh basil.
