Method
 

Cupcake Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a 6-cup muffin pan with parchment or paper liners.
  3. Sift together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add egg whites and vanilla extract to the mixture and beat until well combined, about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Gradually add the dry flour mixture and milk, alternating between the two, mixing until just combined.

Frosting Instructions
  1. Beat the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar, mixing on low speed.
  2. Drizzle in heavy cream and a pinch of salt. Beat until fluffy and holds peaks.
