Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and salt.
- In an electric mixer, beat softened butter and sugar until pale and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, and mix on low until just combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients alternating with milk, mixing until just smooth.
- Spread the batter evenly into the springform pan and arrange sliced plums on top.
- Sprinkle additional sugar over the plum slices.
- Bake for 60 to 70 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
