  • 2 tablespoons Toasted Sesame Oil Omit for lighter dressing or substitute with olive oil.
  • 1 Lemon (Juice & Zest) Adjust to taste; lime can be used as an alternative.
  • ¼ cup Water Adjust for desired consistency.
  • to taste Salt Start small; adjust to preference.
  • to taste Pepper Freshly cracked preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon Za’atar Mix Can be found pre-mixed or made at home.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add tahini, the zest and juice of lemon, and toasted sesame oil. Whisk these ingredients together vigorously for about 1-2 minutes until they are fully blended into a smooth, creamy mixture.
  2. Slowly pour in water while continuing to whisk. Keep whisking for about 2-3 minutes until the mixture becomes smooth and pourable.
  3. Check consistency; if too thick, add another tablespoon of water and whisk for another minute to achieve desired pourable dressing.
  4. Taste and season with salt and pepper, whisking to fully incorporate.
  5. Transfer the dressing into an airtight container for storage, or serve immediately.
