Step-by-Step Instructions for Mini Sugar Cookies
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of table salt until well combined.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ½ cup of melted unsalted butter, ½ cup of granulated sugar, ½ cup of brown sugar, 1 large egg, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
  3. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Scoop 1 ½ tablespoons of dough and roll into balls. Coat with granulated sugar.
  4. Transform some cookie balls into bear shapes by using smaller pieces of dough for ears.
  5. Bake the cookies for 5-7 minutes or until edges are firm and lightly golden; centers should remain soft.
  6. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
