  • 1 cup Sugar Enhances sweetness; substitute with honey or agave syrup if desired.
  • 1 cup Fresh mint Adds a refreshing herbal note; use dried mint in lesser quantity.
  • 2 sprigs Fresh rosemary Introduces a woody flavor; adjust quantity if using dried.
  • 1 pod Vanilla Imparts sweetness; use extract if fresh is not available.

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large mixing bowl, layer fresh lemon slices, sugar, chopped mint, and rosemary. Scrape the seeds from the vanilla pod and add them, along with the pod, to the mixture. Gently massage the ingredients for about 5 minutes to release the juices.
  2. Cover the bowl tightly and place it in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours or overnight to enhance flavors.
  3. Retrieve the bowl from the refrigerator and press the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into another bowl or pitcher to extract the juice.
  4. Pour the extracted juice into a large pitcher and gradually add 8 cups of ice-cold water, stirring well. Adjust sweetness if necessary.
  5. Serve over ice in clear glasses, garnished with fresh mint or rosemary sprigs and a lemon slice.
