  • 1 tsp Chili Flakes (optional) Adjust to taste.
For Thickening the Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Water
For Garnishing
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Seeds
  • 3 stalks Green Onions (sliced)

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Place the chuck roast flat in the slow cooker or pot.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, and chili flakes until smooth.
  3. Pour the glaze over the roast, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  4. Cover and let it cook on Low for 6-8 hours or in the oven at 325°F (160°C) for 3-4 hours until fork-tender.
  5. Remove the roast and keep it warm; transfer the sauce to a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Create a slurry with cornstarch and water, then add it to the simmering sauce to thicken.
  7. Return the roast to the pot or pour the thickened glaze over the roast.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
