Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then add diced onion and sauté for 5 to 7 minutes until soft and golden. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  3. Add the remaining tablespoon of butter and the diced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes until tender.
  4. Add chopped bacon to the skillet and cook for about 7 minutes until crispy, then combine with the mushroom mixture in a bowl.
  5. Add shredded cheese, mayonnaise, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper to the bowl and mix well.
  6. Spoon the mushroom and cheese mixture generously onto each slice of baguette.
  7. Bake the assembled sandwiches on the prepared baking sheet for 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  8. Remove from oven, cool slightly, and garnish with additional chopped parsley before serving.
