For Serving
  • 1 cup whipped cream A light, creamy topping that perfectly complements the pancakes.
  • 1 tbsp green sugar sprinkles Adds festive flair and makes your pancakes even more fun!
  • 1 cup fresh fruit A delicious way to balance the sweetness and add a healthy touch!

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Plastic squeeze bottle
  • Griddle
  • Spatula

Method

Making the Pancakes
  1. Begin by following the instructions on your boxed pancake mix. In a mixing bowl, combine the required amount of pancake mix with water or milk as directed. Stir until just combined.
  2. Stir in 2-3 drops of bright green gel food coloring into your pancake batter. Mix gently until the color is evenly distributed.
  3. Pour the prepared pancake batter into a plastic squeeze bottle for making shamrock shapes more easily.
  4. Set a flat griddle over medium heat, letting it warm up for a few minutes. Lightly grease the griddle with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
  5. Using the squeeze bottle, outline a shamrock shape directly on the heated griddle.
  6. Cook each shamrock pancake for about 3-4 minutes, or until bubbles form on the surface. Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fully cooked.
  7. Once cooked, serve your Shamrock Pancakes warm, topped with whipped cream and green sugar sprinkles, and fresh fruit on the side.
