Making the Pancakes
- Begin by following the instructions on your boxed pancake mix. In a mixing bowl, combine the required amount of pancake mix with water or milk as directed. Stir until just combined.
- Stir in 2-3 drops of bright green gel food coloring into your pancake batter. Mix gently until the color is evenly distributed.
- Pour the prepared pancake batter into a plastic squeeze bottle for making shamrock shapes more easily.
- Set a flat griddle over medium heat, letting it warm up for a few minutes. Lightly grease the griddle with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
- Using the squeeze bottle, outline a shamrock shape directly on the heated griddle.
- Cook each shamrock pancake for about 3-4 minutes, or until bubbles form on the surface. Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fully cooked.
- Once cooked, serve your Shamrock Pancakes warm, topped with whipped cream and green sugar sprinkles, and fresh fruit on the side.
